I am relatively new to body building and have always been very thin. Before starting any training I weighed 10 stone at about 5'-10" now I weigh 11 sotne. I go to the gym 4 times a week splitting the workouts into chest and triceps/ shoulders/ back/ biceps and legs. My big concern is consuming enough protein and carbs.
My job entails that I am on the road most of the day. I have chance for breakfast at about 8 i normally have 3 weetabix and a protein shake. Then at about 11:30 I have a lunch if this is at home i would usually have tinned spagetti 400g and 135g tin of tuna. BUT I am only at home 50% of time, the rest of the time I have to get lunch from a cafe or fast food outlet. Now i wud choose a chicken based meal either kfc or just a foot long sub with chicken. Then at about 3:30 I would stop again and buy some chicken drumsticks reayd cooked from m&s. I go to gym about 5:30 then immediately have a protein shake. Once home I will have a good protein/carb rich meal. Then at about 11 I would have another shake with milk for slow relasing.
I would love any suggestions to food I can take on the road (that does not need heating up or need to be cold at point of consumption) I am neve going to be entering any shows but I want to be a lot bigger than I am now and do put in good effort whilst training. If I can get the diet right I know I can get where I want to be.

Fast food is better than nothing IMO if adding muscle mass, but is poor for nutrients and overall benefit.

Nuts/seeds and dry fruit are good snacks.

All fast food restaurants can be healthy. It just depends on what food you eat while you are there. You can get salads instead of fries, water or milk instead of soda, baked or broiled chicken instead of burgers. I think that it has been televised that Subway is the healthiest fast food restaurant. Even there you have choices though. There you can still get pizza, chips, soda, high calorie bread, foot long or you could get a 6 inch baked chicken breast on wheat with water and apple slices. There was a study recently on a man that ate at McDonald's every meal for a month and lost a lot of weight here recently ( don't know exactly how long or how much). It was his choices that made him loose the weight though. It all just depends on what you choose to eat.

Have you got a link to the mcdonalds study - sounds interesting. Although I guess loosing weight is not the same as becoming healthier.
