Hi all I have recently taken up bodybuilding and want to know what supplements are best to take? I am currently 6ft 3 and 17stone 12 but i have to admit I have a bit of tub around my waist but not too much... What weight could I achieve if i packed on a moderate amount of muscle? I am currently using maximuscle cyclone but is this a good product or just good marketing?

Many thanks!

It really depends what you wish to use the supplements for.
e.g. Creatine, glucosamine, glutamine, beta-analyine, whey protein, etc etc.
As they suggest by their name, they only supplement the diet you are taking. If this isn't spot on, then the supplements are wasted.

I'm no expert of diets, but I suggest you ask PJ, on this forum.
I personally suggest 3 supps which I take:- whey protein to augment the protein I use when doing work outs.,
Creatine to replenish that which is used by my muscles; this is normally produced by eating red meat but strenuous WOs can deplete this.

Glutamine  - A non-essential amino acid, glutamine is considered to be a brain fuel.  Glutamine is very important in the functioning of the metabolism and muscle maintenance. Glutamine supplementation can help prevent muscle and other tissue breakdown by providing the body with nitrogen and fuel.
A regards your WOs, there are far more eperienced bbers on this forum than I who can guide you.
Good luck with your aims.

The list of supps is endless. 3 basic staple supps i feel you need are
1.) good multi vit/mineral supp
2.) a good protein supp
3.) Creatine

Wirg regards to meal,s find out what your maintenance calorific intake is.  A rough guide is your weight in pounds multiplied by 14. So if you weigh 200 pounds then your daily calory intake to maintain your body will be 2,800 calories.
Divide the daily intake by 6; that will be the calories you need for each meal. So in this case each meqal will be around 460 calories. Of course some may be more and therefore others will be less, but thats a guide. To gain mass you will of course need to increase the intake with good protein.
I also suggest you take a protein shake both pre and post WO, and also just before bedtime.

I think everyone will recommend free weights; barbells and dumb-bells.

Also important to train abs as all this extra protein and calories will pack on the muscle and will also lead to having a belly lol
i learned the hard way
even though i ate pretty clean u can still put on the fat.
