Hi guys I'm new here hoping to get some advice.

I have been working out around 4-5 times a week for over a month. I am trying to loose weight which I currently have around 34% body fat weight around 114kg.

I mainly go on the cross runner cant do much time on tread mill (not running at least). 30 or so mins of cardio followed by weights. I was thinking of replacing a meal with a protein shake but to add to it I'm vegie (no fish or eggs included).

So can anyone advise me on best way to loose weight but also gain bit of muscle.

Thanks

As your primary goal is to lose weight, do a bit on the bike as well as the cross trainer, totalling about an hour of cardio and then say half an hour of weights.
try and cut out crap foods and be sure to have enough protein in your diet, the protein shake is a good idea, have it after training. It may take some time but if you're dedicated you should start to see results!

First off.. Weights THEN cardio is a proven fact is the best way to burn fat..

Also when on the treadmill.. you lose more fat by powerwalking then running.

Power walking is fast walking so you quickly get up a sweat, but just short of trotting or running. Some believe that it is better to do this for 10 minutes, then slow down for say 3 - 4 minutes then power up again. The whole seesions should be for 30 minutes or more. Anything less than 20 minutes doesn't burn enough calories

I'm so glad there is topic about lossing fat as I was thinking starting a new one. Got some question of my own. I wake up and I jog for about 30-40min every morning and I been doing for about 3 weeks and I don't seem to lose much while moderately. I might try power walking with 2 dumbells. so glad I live near the seaside.

Before power walking, make certain that you have stretched your leg muscles and tendons - - - particularly the hamstrings!   A few months ago I didn't and damaged the hamstring. The result was that I was off cardio for several weeks!

thanks for the tips, I will do powerwalking instead. tried this morning and I did sweat but didn't feel as breathless as when I was jogging.
